THE PEDIGREE FOUNDATION TO HELP THE FOX VALLEY ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE
In late fall 2009, the Fox Valley Animal Welfare League applied for grant funds from The PEDIGREE Foundation to support their Spay and Neuter Program. The Fox Valley Animal Welfare League Spay and Neuter Program works cooperatively with the City of Aurora Animal Care and Control facility and A.D.O.P.T of Naperville. City of Aurora Animal Care and Control facility adopts approximately 450 animals back into the community each year. All of the animals adopted are spayed and neutered by A.D.O.P.T of Naperville prior to the adoption. The Fox Valley Animal Welfare League supports the City’s adoption program by providing the financial resources to cover the costs of spay, neuter and vaccinations of the shelter animals.
The PEDIGREE Foundation receives hundreds of applications each year from across the country from animal shelters searching for funds to assist with the welfare, medical care, and adoption of shelter animals. After a thorough evaluation process, the Fox Valley Animal Welfare League application was approved and the organization was awarded $656.53 to support the spaying and neutering of shelter dogs prior to adoption. Throughout 2010, the Fox Valley Animal Welfare League will be utilizing the funding to contribute to the Spay and Neuter Program and will have a specific focus on dogs, as part of the PEDIGREE Foundation’s “Dogs Rule” Campaign.
