Why a Pet Food Pantry? For many, their pets may be their only family or friend. Pets offer companionship, unconditional love, joy, comfort, friendship, and acceptance – someone they can talk to without judgment. Pets are vital to a person's well being. We feel it is critical for pet owners to know that assistance is available to them.

Objective: To provide assistance to senior citizens who have pets in our community and who receive meals through a home delivery program.

Goal: To reduce the number of pets being surrendered or abandoned due to lack of food and/or medical needs, lessening the burden of homeless pets on local animal shelters and rescue groups, reducing the number of animals being euthanized.

Volunteers Needed!!

Volunteers are needed to transport the donated pet food to the Humanitarian Services distribution center located in Carol Stream, IL. To learn more about the Humanitarian Service Project, visit their website: www.humanitarianservice.org

If you would like to volunteer please email volunteer@fvawl.org or visit our volunteer page.

How can you help us keep our pantry stocked?

  • Donate pet food that is unopened and unexpired

  • Make a monetary donation

  • Host a food drive – this is an easy and rewarding way for groups of individuals, students at schools, etc. to help. Food donations can be dropped off at the clinic during normal business hours.
