Loving Legacies
Loving Legacies is designed for individuals who have lost a companion animal in their life. Any species type loss is honored and welcomed. The purpose of the group is to provide mutual support and grief education to group members. The program is sponsored by Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice.

Companion animal loss may not only be profound for the loss itself but also for the references this animal provides in witnessing our life events. The loss of our animal companion can cause further life reflection by reviewing our past lifecycle, milestones, success/losses we have faced and geographical changes that have occurred. This companion animal may have been the only constant relationship in this time frame. Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice (FVVH) has created a seven week program. The purpose of the group will be to offer a safe place for companion animal grievers to discuss their feelings. Along with the opportunity for processing will be the provision of educational tools about grief process to assist them throughout their lives. Mostly though we want this to be a place to celebrate their relationship and to know because they have loved they belong.
The next session is to be announced. Contact Christy Pitol at FVVH to register and for additional information at 630-232-2233 ext.230
